Many thanks to Elbowfans for working so hard to promote the Ebay charity sale of the signed bottle of Elbow beer, which went for an amazing £250. Special thanks also to Craig who tweeted like mad in the last couple of hours!

Thanks to all bidders. It went for an impressive £68! The next item is a must for all serious collectors of Elbow memorabilia. I’ll ask Mrs Woman to post the link.

Very proud of the Elboys – they did it again!

    • Oh yes Mamaraig – they go from strength to strength ! Craig and Mark looked very regal – an understated cool….! Felt proud like your goodselves….ready for Belfast in August !

    • So good to see them steal the show with even more new fans than last time. Next stop, headliners – and world domination!

I watched the live webcam broadcast from Coachella on Sunday morning at 6am. That’s dedication for you! There are a few snippets on YouTube.

Anyone fancy having a go at answering my Mastermind Game question ( it’s an Elbow lyrics one ) and putting up a different one?

Quote from Q mag’s review of the new album: ”But Build A Rocket Boys! isn’t a reaction to anything. It’s neither Top 5-be-damned experimental noise terror nor 11 string-soaked attempts to rewrite One Day Like This. It’s simply another excellent Elbow record.”

    • Nice one Mamaraig – just been to Asda to procure a copy – it’s sounding fantastic, really looking forward to it coming out, not played Llippy Kids or Neat Little Rows for a LONG time – want to spoil myself in full upon the LP coming out !

Fantastic! And I believe the full, longer version of this track on the album is even better. Should be great live! Looking forward to the March tour.

Very amused by the debate about the missing comma in the new album title – see Elbow Room Only and Craig’s Twitter account ( CraigLPotter). He was reprimanded by Ian Rankin, no less!( BeathHigh) I noticed Mrs Woman put in one of her own here, technically correct, of course. And some of the band have teachers for parents!

    • Chuckling about that just now, Mamaraig: Another debate on song title punctuation highlights how important it can be. Compare ”What is this thing called love?” with ”What is this thing called, love?” Think that one has an ’ey up remix…

Thanks for confirming that Lesley. Now, here’s an Elbow question which might be a bit easy for you experts. Which track has the line – ”Less derring do than quiet care” ?

Hi Mrs Woman. Having read Wikipedia more carefully I now see that chronologically Alan Arkin was only one of a few actors who played the part at that time. However, I’ve Googled again and this time have come across Peter Ustinov’s name. Anyone like to confirm this?

Hi. Not sure how this group works. Is the answer to Lesley’s question Alan Arkin? If it is, what happens next? If not, does anyone know?

    • Hi Mamaraig. I wonder if Lesley means who was supposed to play the role which Peter Sellers then stepped in for and made his own, rather than who starrred in the later ‘Inspector Clouseau’ film.

Generally, the game used to work with the ‘question master’ confirming a right answer, then the answerer then taking their turn. If you’re 100%…[Read more]

    • Yes, it was Peter Ustinov. Sorry I’ve not been around My computer died on me, again.
