It’s been a while, but we’re back! With the new NUMBER ONE album, there’s plenty to get excited about.
The bad news
After site updates, the registrations page isn’t working, so we’re due a huge revamp. The downside is, real life/work is in the way right now, so will have to wait till I get some free time.
The good news
For existing members and our Facebook friends, we’re running our best ever giveaway competition!
We have two vinyl albums, two CDs and an impressively huge poster as prizes, thanks to Fiction Records & Universal.
Simply answer the three 6-themed questions via PM-ing me, Mrs Woman on here or elbowfans Facebook page message – and please state what you’d like if you win!
Q1: We all know Guy broadcasts his Finest Hour on 6Music, but on what date did BBC 6Music first broadcast?
Q2: The hero of surreal TV programme, “The Prisoner” was Number 6, but what’s the real name of the location where it was filmed?
Q3: What is the real name of the American rock musician, producer and artist known sometimes as Number 6?
Sorry, UK winners only for the vinyl and poster, but happy to post the CDs overseas
Winners will be drawn at the end of the month. Good luck!
28th August 2012:
Happy Birthday Pete! We’ll raise one to you in the Elbowfans house tonight.
In other news, it’s been a good summer for festival appearances, Olympian profile building and the newly-released but long, long-awaited ‘Dead in the Boot’ compilation .
With the UK arena tour dates not far off too, it’s been a welcome change of pace to get some band apperances trickling in at regular intervals rather than have to wait two or three years.
If you’ve not nabbed those tickets yet, or just can’t get to those gigs, do the next best thing and pick your #fantasy15 setlist and share it with us on the site, Facebook page or Twitter. There’s been some great choices already.
22nd June 2012:
Can’t make it to the Isle of Wight Festival? If you or someone you know has Sky Arts 1, the lads are on tonight at 6pm with an interview and later at 9pm to see highlights from the set. If you don’t have access to Sky, tune into Absolute radio instead and hear the complete IOW set from 8:15pm.
If you’re maybe going to Jodrell Bank, take some wet weather gear & we’ll see you there! x
4th March 2012:
A big warm welcome to our new members! Whether you’ve joined via the screenings or the ever-growing Twitter ranks, please let me know if you have any problems accessing the site. As it’s undergone quite a bit of back-end patching over the last few months, certain things aren’t apparent if they’re not working as they should.
Don’t forget the re-issue poster giveaway here:
1st January 2012:
Happy New Year & welcome to the new-look elbowfans. We’ve changed a few things behind the scenes as well, so the place should be easier to get around and take part in too.
